I have the new forum style up and running on the forums. I hope you enjoy it!

I got a lot done on the new forum style this evening. I hope to have it finished and released by the end of next week.

The forums will be shut down for a couple of hours tonight for me to get some work done on the new theme.

Site News: Outage is over and here is what I did:

I updated the forums to phpbb3. I also added a lot of security to the forums and the main BOINC Energized
site. I have also cleaned up the files that power the site as well as
the site's database. I hope that this will yield faster load times and
cause less frustrations when using our site. I hope you enjoy the
changes. If you have any suggestions please post them in the
suggestions section of the forums.

Tonight, 5-6-08, at 6:30P.M. Eastern time there will be a scheduled maintenance period. At this time sone site functions may not work correctly.

Up and coming forum changes

The forums will be shut down for the next couple of days as I upgrade to phpbb3. We have been having some problems with people abusing the forums lately. phpbb3 will record all ip address and allow for better security with some modifications that I have made to it.

This is a problem that has been coming up more often. In the downloads section you must fill out all fields in order for your download request to be sent. I am sorry for any inconvenience.

I am going to start doing something new, a weekly team update. In this update I will include all the scheduled maintenance for the week, forum upgrades, site upgrades, announce new team members and other important team news. To receive this weekly update go to the your account page and click yes in the field that says subscribe to our newsletter.

I have done many things during this outage. I changed the my account page and simplified the database, which should speed up the site a bit. I also took and made many changes to the forums. None of these changes are viewable to you at the moment, but I did get everything to where I can make them available without having to have another outage. This means that I shouldn't have to shut parts of the site down again for awhile, or at least I hope I wont ;-)

There will be another couple hour outage late tonight. I am going to fix the My account functions to control the forums as well as teh site and add some feature to the forums.
